A Rescue and Salvage Operation
Following the collision of the M/V Seagate, a bulk carrier and a reefer vessel 25 miles north of the Dominican Republic, the manager of the bulk carrier contracted RESOLVE Salvage & Fire (Americas), Inc. to stabilize the ship, patch the hole in her side, and lighten her cargo. RESOLVE also provided pollution control and remediation services throughout the response.
As a result of the collision, the ship’s engine room was flooded and a Port of Refuge was needed to conduct repair operations. With the assistance of ENMARCOLDA, RESOLVE secured the Government of Haiti’s permission to use Port-au-Prince as a Port of Refuge for the damaged vessel. During the two month repair operation, ENMARCOLDA was extremely helpful in sourcing RESOLVE’s needs from the local market.
This project’s progress & expeditious completion would not have been possible without the tremendous assistance of Wilhelm Lemke, Michael Lemke, Jeffrey d’Adesky & the entire ENMARCOLDA team. We greatly appreciated ENMARCOLDA’s unyielding support during this project.
